Impressed by Jaxon

Now that Jaxon is a purple belt, he is learning a long series of moves. This is the first piece of it. I wish I knew what it was called, 49 swords something or other. And yes, that is my Christmas stuff still up in the background. I filmed this video on Wednesday. You will be glad to know it has been all been taken down as of yesterday! Sometimes I am a bit slow!

Mason's Creed

We are so proud of Mason for earning his very first gold star after one week of class! He was able to recite his creed to his class by himself! Way to go Mason!

Karate Kids

Now both boys are in Shaolin Kempo Karate School. They adore and respect their professor. It is so fun to watch them in class. Mason's class focusses on stranger safety and Jaxon's class has a focus on defense.

Papa Has a New Set of Wheels!

After months of carpooling, single parent outings, and racing to pick up/drop off/meet at home, we are finally a two car family again. Shawn has purchased a Dodge Ram truck, and since I am not a car person, that is about as many details as my little girly brain can handle. Oh, and it's blue. There you have it. Can you visualize it with all those decriptive details? Life just may get back to "normal" now.

Well it isn't hard to be better at mom in the kitchen. I'll be so glad when he can actually make meals so I can hang up my apron for good. Today Jaxon wanted to create a new recipe. This one is called Ice Cream Sundae Apple Dippers. Yum! For those who want to try, you dip apples in ice cream, then nuts and heath bar bits and then drizzle with carmel.

Happy Birthday Jaxon!

My baby turned 8 today! I wish you a very happy birthday my big guy!!!

Last night we celebrated early at our annual Benihana Birthday dinner. Yum! Jaxon ate with chopsticks now that he is a big 8 year old.

Every meal on your birthday gets candles! Jaxon chose donuts for breakfast. Another yum- he has good taste!

We snuck out early today to see Enchanted. It was super cute, and hey, you can't beat a morning with McDreamy!

This afternoon we had the family over for cake and ice cream. The Wii extravaganza continued as he received more gadgets and games for our new favorite game. This evening Jaxon again chose the meal, which was steak, baked potatoes, and salad. I told you had good taste. And yes, I did cook it!!!

I've been spending the final days of my vacation doing what I love to do the most...scrapbooking! Here's a peek at what I've been working on. I've been staying up late and sleeping in. Life is good!

Wii Celebrate 2008

Jaxon received his birthday gift a bit early this year. After eight grueling clues, he opened the Wii that we got for his birthday. Our New Year's tradition for the past 8 years has been to stay home and ring in the new year as a family. So, this year we decided to combine the holiday with Jaxon's birthday and we all played together long into the night. We had to put down the controllers at 11:55 to get ready to do the countdown and our poppers. It's definately a 4-way tie as to who is enjoying the new Wii the most!
