My Favorite Part of the Trip

This was by far the best part of the trip for me. We went down by the lake to check it out on Wednesday. We were in for a treat! There was snow and sand next to the water. Jaxon grabbed his sled and had a blast! We even found a tiny snow man for Mason. We weren't able to make a snow man on this trip as the snow was too hard. So it was a lucky find for us! Only in California can you sled in the snow on the beach!!!

There was Snow!

There was plenty of snow for us at Lake Tahoe. The boys played in the front yard of the cabin for hours when we arrived on Tuesday. They thought that was "the snow", so when we went to a snow park the next day, they were super excited! Mason played for about an hour and we had to drag Jaxon away much later. We hit up Chevy's for dinner last night and then Mel's diner for lunch today on the way home. Food was the entertainment for us adults! The cabin was cute and cozy and the boys loved having a fire and drinking hot cocoa. We even toasted marchmallows and made s'mores one night!

Off to the Snow

We are heading out this morning to Tahoe with Nani and Nanu. Shawn has to work so it's just me and the boys (and the in-laws). We are hoping for snow, but it's been so sunny these past few days that we'll have to wait and see what we can find. We may just end up on a mountain top somewhere. If you hear any yoddling, that's just us! If you hear of any avalanches, that's just us too. Of course, I'll post pictures when we return from our adventure. We Call Him Golerod

Mason found his first rolly polly bug today. He named him Golerod and he now lives in Mason's room as our new pet. Mason carried him around for 30 minutes. I hope he survives such love from this kind-hearted four year old!

Happy Easter!

We have had a fabulous Easter filled weekend. Saturday we baked and decorated cookies, as well as dyed eggs. Sunday we spent all day at Grandma's house. First we had brunch, then an egg hunt, and then movies and plenty of playing around. What a great day!

Only A Matter Of Time

I've seen this one coming for a while now. Mason has no fear and is pretty rough. Well, last night Mason was standing on the arm of the couch, and fell onto the coffee table and banged his head. Of course, since it wasn't really bleeding, Shawn thought it was fine. However, I tend to be ER bound so we headed to the Minor Injury Clinic to have it checked out. After 2 hours of waiting, the doctor gives me the schpeel about it being superficial, blah, blah, blah. Oh wait a minute, as he's cleaning it out he finds that it's actually a hole in his scalp. Nice! So, Mason had his first staple in his head last night. Rock on my little man. Let's hope this is it for a while.
